Vital Publishing had a jam-packed year of releases to try to maintain with some previous titles getting a reprint, some titles being continued & some new titles being introduced.
Two Tone Comix brought together writer Scott Bufis & artist Matthew Salazar to work on Esoteric Dialogue…..a comic book with a much more hidden meaning behind the stories within.
Old Man Logan made a welcome return as a tie-in to marvel’s Secret Wars event and the 5-parter saw Brian Michael Bendis team up with artist Andrea Sorrentino & colourist Marcelo Maiolo.
I almost missed out on Trancers from Action Lab Danger Zone as it nestled away in the smaller publishers section of Previews……but luck must have been on my side for this as I’ve now read the first two and waiting on the 3rd and final issue.
Mark Millar & Sean Gordon Murphy teamed up in their 4-part creation Chrononauts – which turned out to be a time-travelling roller coaster ride.
2015 proved to be another Comic Con-filled year for me and while they turned out to be a mix of hits & misses……there was also a number of first time Con’s for me. The best of which proved to be the The Lakes International Comic Art Festival that was hitting it’s 3rd year.
After the likes of Saga & The Private Eye it was hard to see how Brian K Vaughn could top that success but he seems to have struck gold again with his latest title, Paper Girls.
It seems like I’ve always been a fan of Tim Sale & Jeph Loeb and I’m sure I’m not alone in that but back in 2008 they released an issue #0 of their new addition to the colors books they had a run of with Marvel….finally in September this year the series started properly with an extra-sized opening issue that included the content from that issue #0.
