Wart from writer Chris Welsh & artist Ammar Al-Chalabi is running on Kickstarter now for its fourth issue and I got the chance to hit Ammar with some questions about what we can expect from this indie slice of Gothic horror.
Chris Welsh is a writer that’s already impressed with the likes of Wart & Doc Dino but 2016 saw him release the first two issues of Ness and ensure that the whole four issue series will hit print through his successful Kickstarter campaigns.
The world of indie anthologies seems to be a fairly divisive thing for the wider comic audience with a short peak at a story not always being seen as value for money but Comichaus are aiming to change that with their latest release which just hit its third issue.
Last week Chris Welsh (Wart, Doc Dino, The Grime) kicked off his Kickstarter campaign for new project Ness with the kind of early numbers comic creators dream of. I was lucky enough to catch up with him and ask him a few questions about the project…..
James McCulloch (City of Lost Souls), Tom Ward (Merrick: The Elephant Man) & Chris Welsh (Wart) put their collective heads together and got a team assembled for new release The Grime #1, the first in a horror anthology that not only offers a new series of horror comic tales but also the chance for new talent to flex their creative muscles.
After a stellar run with the first four issues of Merrick: The Sensational Elephantman the gods of good indie comics (can’t remember his name) nudged creators Tom Ward & Luke Parker back into the world they had created for a new one-shot…….and Kickstarter beckoned to get the issue into print.
