Subversive Comics had already produced the amazing Metal Made Flesh series but they added Super Robot Mayhem into the mix in 2017 and opened my eyes to a whole new genre.
It’s no secret that Image Comics have been one of the most consistent publishers in pushing boundaries in the comic book world and never has that been more evident than in this year’s Redlands.
The Kelvingrove Art Gallery played host to a celebration of Frank Quitely’s work for half of 2017 and I was lucky enough to make it along three times it was THAT good.
Cadavers from Mad Robot Comics is the brain-child of Matt Hardy and with three successful Kickstarter’s under his belt already, it’s no surprise these have done so well.
Ovi Demetrian Jr & Jen Hickman had already impressed with the early issues of Lifehacks but 2017 saw them close out their four-part story with real style.
Stuart John McCune’s anthology The Human Beings was one of the biggest revelations of the year and even though I had heard a lot about it…..I still wasn’t prepared for just how good it would be.
