Advanced Review – Limbo #2

After an impressive opening issue Dan Watters & Caspar Wijngaard hit us with issue #2 of their six-parter from Image Comics and things take a weird but wonderful turn.

Dan Watters & Caspar Wijngaard team-up for their Image Comics release Limbo which brings us an amnesiac Private Detective steeped in the criminal underworld of Dedande City…….with a hint of voodoo thrown in for good measure.

Huck #1 – Advanced Review

The newest Millarworld/Image Comics title hits on the 18th November and Huck #1 sees Mark Millar team-up with another big name artist in Rafael Albuquerque……and this could well be another hit in a recent series of hits for the Glasgow-based writer.

Sunstone Volume 3 TPB

Top Cow/Image recently released the third volume of Stjepan Šejić’s Sunstone which has proven to be something of a revelation in its grown-up approach to the basics of love, life & sex, and while this may well reside in the “Romance/Erotica” category for its content there’s no denying that this is far from a title that should be hidden in any niche.

A Comic a Day in May – Day 13: Sunstone Volume 2 TPB

Volume 1 of Stjepan Šejić’s AMAZING Sunstone proved to be a hidden gem and lead to a pre-order of volume 2 as soon as I could…..thankfully that arrived recently and I got to see where the story of Ally & Lisa goes next.

Chrononauts #1

The latest Millarworld release sees Mark Millar team-up with artist Sean Gordon Murphy to bring us a buddy comic that’s creating more than it’s fair share of buzz already.

Sexcastle TPB

As absurd as that title is……this release from Image Comics is one of those titles you feel the NEED to tell others about as soon as you’ve read it.  An homage to the best & worst that 80’s action movies had to offer written & drawn by Kyle Starks.

Sunstone Volume 1 TPB

While the book & recent movie of 50 Shades of Grey may have become a hollow, sexual throwaway experience……something like Sunstone takes the same themes and adds real heart to a title that appears in the “Erotic/Romance” category.

Starlight TPB

Image Comics releases Mark Millar’s 6-part Starlight in a collected TPB this week and after the series made my 2014 highlights list …….I’m revisiting it.
