Close was another release under the Comichaus banner that had quality written all over it and boy did it deliver.
For me though, it was a bit of a double-whammy as writer Chris Sides had already pretty much blown me away with his release Impossible, which was a highlight for me in it’s own right. Here, it’s a great comic from a writer that’s getting better & better with each release. There’s the added bonus of him teaming up with Chris Travell on this one who does an amazing job on artwork and a gritty story that is equal parts uneasy and intriguing, unfolds in the most impressive way possible. The two Chris’ are joined by Ken Reynolds on lettering and the complete package from an impressive creative team builds all the way to the final panel and ends up pitch-perfect in a bittersweet blur of brilliance. A must-read from Chris and his collaborators yet again and one that I’ll return to again and again next year too.
