G-Man’s highlights of 2016: Day 23 – Alex Automatic

Fraser Campbell teamed up with James Corcoran to bring us the latest Cabal Comics release and after a stunning Kickstarter campaign it became a reality.

They ended up bringing us a slick story of spy games mixed with a blurry psychosis as agent Alex Anderson wrestled with the government, his enemies and his own mind.  A glorious story from Fraser who had already impressed with Sleeping Dogs but who really shone with this offering in the latter half of the year.  James unique style brought an amazing look to what turned out to be an amazing story and with colourist David B. Cooper and letterer Colin Bell adding the extra detail that breathed life into this spy-genre comic that could have easily retread old ground.  Bold & impressive it flowed all too fast but there’s early rumblings of more in 2017 which is definitely something to look out for.

You can get hold of Alex Automatic through the Cabal Comics online store and you can keep tabs on what’s next over on the Facebook page.
